About Rentschler Forest MetroPark
With almost 400 acres Rentschler Forest MetroPark includes about a half-mile frontage along the Great Miami River. Explore acres of woodland, remnants of the old Miami-Erie Canal, prehistoric Indian earthwork and, reconstructed wetlands. Enjoy picnic sites, covered picnic shelters, children’s play areas, soccer fields, a youth group camping area, and miles of hiking trails. The Great Miami River Recreation trail is accessible by the lower parking lot that connects to Hamilton. The “Earthwork Trail” skirts a large meadow before entering the forest, where a small ravine appears on the left. Just beyond, a large section of the earthwork appears among the trees on the right.
