About Christmas Candlelighting

Visitors to the Candlelighting will experience a truly old-fashioned Christmas. Listen to a Christmas story and enjoy holiday music as everyone gathers around the stage in the center of the village to witness the lighting of a 30-foot Christmas tree. The Honorary Candlelighter will light his/her candle from the main candle on stage, then the flame is passed through the crowd. As the candle lighting spreads, each guest joins in the singing of Silent Night, until everyone's candle is glowing. Both Candlelighting Ceremonies begin at 6pm. Parking and admission is FREE to the public. A variety of family fun activities will be offered throughout the day: horse-drawn carriage rides, roasted chestnuts, strolling carolers, hands-on crafts, A Roscoe Christmas tour, and holiday shopping and dining in Roscoe Village. FREE cookies and hot-mulled cider will be available later in the afternoon at the center of the village. Activities may vary for each Christmas Candlelighting and some may require a fee to participate.
