About Summer on the Farm

Children today are often generations removed from life on the farm. This special event allows guests to experience life in rural Ohio more than 100 years ago! During Summer on the Farm event guests can help out with chores like feeding the animals, help with garden-themed activities, enjoy special music, ice cream making, trolley rides, and play old-fashioned games. Guests can also enjoy an afternoon of toe-tapping music as fiddlers from the tri-state region gather to compete at Sauder Village. Seats will be filling by 12:30 as special guest performers take the stage followed by the toe-tapping fiddle competition with fiddlers competing in one of three categories - student, open and senior. Each contestant will have five minutes to perform a hoedown and a waltz using old time style and techniques.
