TourismOhio is making strides executing the new strategic plan. Work is underway on the DiscoverOhio.com redesign which all of you have told us is paramount. We are also on track to secure branding, creative services and media buying partners. The new Ohio Travel Guide and corresponding App will be available any day now and advertising co-op sales are on a record pace (there is still time to participate). We are also fresh off, what is by all counts, another productive trip to New York for our Public Relations media mission. Hats off to the TourismOhio team for the momentum.
And while new, exciting work lies ahead – I would like to take a moment to give kudos to the everyday happenings that make a significant difference to the Ohio visitor experience. Recently, I had the opportunity to speak in support of the Cleveland Sight Center, our partner through the State of Ohio’s Community Rehabilitation Program that handles calls through 1-800-Buckeye, among other things. They are the customer service agents on the front line with potential Ohio visitors, and I am happy to say they are doing great work representing Ohio and promoting the many assets we have in the state. The visually impaired employees of the Sight Center are certified travel advisers who are passionate about sharing the wonder of Ohio with everyone who calls or emails. Whenever you refer someone to 1-800-Buckeye for Ohio travel information, you should rest assured they are in good hands. Give them a call and see for yourself the difference a great partner can make.
I encourage you during this pre-spring time, to embrace the same passion and customer-focused mentality of our partners at the Sight Center. Take some time to experience the newness of the season – take in gushing waterfalls overflowing with melting snow, smile as you see the buds forming on trees, enjoy patio time with good friends on warmer days. It’s about to be a new season in Ohio…
For the Good of Ohio,
Mary L. Cusick
