Ohio State Fair Booth – a Big Success
What fantastic weather it was for the Ohio State Fair this year! That, along with record attendance, made this year’s DSA/TourismOhio “Ohio Lounge” booth the best yet. A 15-foot replica of the Ohio Travel Guide cover of Summit Lake Metropark’s Towpath Trial was the back drop of the booth. An extension of the boardwalk created the “stage area” which hosted a variety of Ohio entertainment. Additional location photos were featured throughout the booth.
Many thanks to the following industry partners for helping to promote Ohio as a destination of choice for travelers:
- Lake Erie Shores and Islands
- The Ohio Appalachian Country
- National Museum of the United States Air Force
- Hocking Hills Canopy Tours
- Hocking Hills
- Tuscarawas County
- Hofbrӓuhaus Columbus
- Bob and Connie Pond, authors of “Follow the Blue Blazes” (about the Buckeye Trail)
The booth featured soft seating areas with TV monitors showing a compilation of Ohio videos. A “Spin-and-Win” prize wheel also attracted visitors to the booth. Thanks to those partners who donated prizes.
Many people stopped by to get a stamp for their Ohio Tour Passport. When they received three other stamps from partner state agencies ODNR, ODOT and ODA, they could redeem it for a “HI” button.
IPad kiosks encouraged visitors to check out the new DiscoverOhio.com, to sign up for the Ohio Travel Guide and to download the Travel Guide app to their smart phones and tablets.
A cut-out Instagram frame was available to take photos using the hashtag #Ohiogram. There was some great social media engagement!
A BIG thank you to all who participated this year. It couldn’t have happened without your time and talents.
