TourismOhio First: Advertising Ohio Fall Travel Season

Additional funding allows for autumn tourism advertising

For the first time, TourismOhio is advertising the state’s autumn experiences through the month of October. TourismOhio is running radio, digital, and cable ads throughout October to encourage visitors to explore Ohio’s Autumn Adventures including fall color, festivals, hiking, cycling, paddling at Ohio State Parks; and more.

“TourismOhio has a great partnership with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources promoting Ohio’s autumn travel experiences through public relations and both of our websites,” said Mary Cusick, director of TourismOhio. “There is so much opportunity for travel during this season that it makes sense to create more awareness through advertising.”

The fall advertising investment of $730,640 is made possible through 2012 legislation that doubled the TourismOhio budget (up to $10 million) to market Ohio travel experiences. The funding model is based on the increase in sales tax revenue generated from Ohio tourism industries year over year.

TourismOhio television or radio ads are available for sharing. The autumn radio ad is available for download from the TourismOhio Press Room at:; just type “radio” in the advanced search space.
