The Amish are known for their simple and honest way of life and delicious home-cooked meals. It can be difficult choosing between a tasty apple or rhubarb pie, still warm from the oven, after eating a classic Amish meal of broasted chicken and mashed potatoes. Every Amish-style restaurant brings delicious comfort food to the table, and there is plenty of it in Ohio’s Amish Country!

Boyd and Wurthmann Restaurant – Berlin

A family-owned restaurant that still serves a 75-cent cup of coffee, Boyd and Wurthmann prides itself on great home-style food from their Amish cooks and humble beginnings. The charming restaurant will make you feel right at home with its small-town feel and friendly workers. But make sure you save room for some homemade pies!

Hartville Kitchen – Hartville

For home-style cooking prepared from scratch, the Hartville Kitchen has been serving families mashed potatoes, fresh chicken, beef, homemade dinner rolls, baked goods and more since 1966. Their bakery will satisfy any sweet-tooth craving with freshly baked sweet rolls, breads, strudels, cakes, a selection of 21 pies and many more baked goodies.

Amish Country’s hidden gem, Miller’s Dutch Kitch’n has claimed to have the best Amish cooking since 1972. You’ll want to try the best broasted chicken in town, fresh pies with homemade ice cream on the side and their BBQ pork, which is served all day on Saturday.

Rebecca’s Bistro – Walnut Creek

This small town bistro may not be an Amish style eatery, but it’s located in Ohio’s Amish Country, and they know cook up some great locally grown comfort food! Open for breakfast and lunch, you’ll find an assortment of hearty sandwiches, quiche, savory soups, salads and delightful desserts including cinnamon roll cookies, carrot cake, espresso beverages, assorted flavors of cheesecake and more!

School House Winery – Dover

Wine is comforting too, right? Located minutes from Amish County, the School House Winery is a quaint, historical, one-room schoolhouse giving visitors a relaxing setting and award-winning wines.
