Cheers to the Holidays

Where to reconnect with friends and family in Ohio over a festive drink!

Nothing says #HolidaysInOhio like reconnecting with loved ones over a festive drink, and it turns out that Ohio’s creative mixologists can please even Scrooge’s palate. Here are a few locales to give friends and family a taste of Ohio all while getting into the holiday spirit:

Watershed Kitchen + Bar, Columbus

In search of the perfect environment for cocktails and conversation? Look no further than Watershed Kitchen + Bar in Columbus. Take a distillery tour and try their famous, Nochino, a rare black walnut liqueur that is referred to as “Christmas in a Glass.”  There’s a reason why The New York Times designated it the “official drink of the Nutcracker.”

Shaken and Stirred Cocktail Trail

What better way to sample holiday flavors than on a cocktail trail? Introducing Shaken and Stirred, a holiday-themed cocktail trail launching Nov. 15 in Lorain County. Pick up a passport and hit one of the 18 stops serving up cocktails with names like Caribbean Sleighride, The Duke and The Grinch. Cheers!

West End Cider House, Athens

Your holiday escape awaits in Athens. Make your way to West End Cider House, featuring delicious farmhouse-style ciders, meads and more. Housed within a quaint, historic building, this quiet getaway is perfect for sharing sips and spirits this season.

West Central Wine, Middletown

Did someone say happy hour? Head to West Central Wine in Middletown for their seasonal favorite: the Mulled Cider Martini. Hungry? Taste their unique selection of seasonal and sustainable foods including meat and cheese boards to share with friends and family helping you enjoy the season straight up with a twist.

Tucci’s, Dublin

Tucci’s in Dublin is serving up holiday cheer with their Celtic Twilight – a delicious combination of bailey’s, Frangelico and whiskey served on the rocks. As one of the stops on the ever-popular Celtic Cocktail Trail, this destination will give you a taste of Ohio with an Irish attitude.

The Merchant House, Greenville

Pull up a chair at The Merchant House in Greenville. This homey local favorite specializes in delicious comfort foods and libations, making it the ideal place for catching up with old friends. Get in the holiday spirit with an Orange Cranberry Mule – muddled orange slices and cranberries with spiced rum, orange liqueur and ginger beer.

The Met Restaurant & Wine Bar, Lima

Housed within the Metropolitan Block, an architectural masterpiece in downtown Lima, The Met Restaurant & Wine Bar is the ideal location for your next reunion over the holidays. Featuring a themed martini flight, (peppermint, frozen hot cocoa and pumpkin pie), this nostalgic establishment is sure to serve up your new favorite way to celebrate the season.

Give one of these local favorites a try and share your memories with us this season using #HolidaysInOhio.
