Bookhouse Brewing is a small brewery and taproom in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood, focusing on innovative and approachable beers and ciders in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. Books, maps, and other curiosities decorate the pub. There will be no TVs, but plenty of available wi-fi.
The Bookhouse Brewing taproom has room for 105, and will highlight its historic features. Built in 1866, the building originally housed the Baehr Brewery. Just seven years after opening, patriarch Jacob Baehr died, leaving his wife, Magdalena, to run the business and raise their eight children. Cleveland’s “Widow Brewer” ran the business successfully through 1901. The Bookhouse Brewing taproom will occupy the former Baehr tavern space, offering a warm environment to gather with friends and share a few pints.
Educational events, game nights, sing-alongs, homebrew club meetings, seminars, brewery tours, and so much more fill the pantheon of curiosities that we're interested in providing.
Come on in, grab a sampler and a snack, and let’s get to know each other.
