About Deer Haven Park

Deer Haven Park, a 97-acre nature park in the Preservation Parks of Delaware County system, is the site of many programs, camps, exhibits, and classes for the park district due to its indoor Visitor Center and location in the central part of the county. The park includes 1.1 miles of trail that wind through meadow and woodland; boardwalks extend over the top of small wetlands to get visitors close to frogs and dragonflies! A central theme of the park is biodiversity, and a large pollinator garden near the visitor center entrance demonstrates how habitat can be improved with native plants. That visitor center also includes indoor seating, so visitors can watch bird feeders through the windows. A nature library includes books for adults and children, along with puzzles and games. The classroom and the library can both be rented by business organizations for meetings. Deer Haven Park also is a destination for school field trips.
