About Gilmore MetroPark

Located amidst business and commercial development in southeast Hamilton, the 268-acre Gilmore MetroPark is a nature lover's paradise. This Butler County Metropark is home to an abundant amount of wildlife, supporting an intricate wetland ecosystem in the county. A popular destination for birdwatchers, the Gilmore Pond Interpretive Preserve includes viewing decks, an observation tower and nature trails that weave throughout the 195 acres of native plants and trees. Seasonal flooding of much of the acreage provides for the wetland character of much of this preserve, which has long been a popular destination for area birders. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has designated this park as one of its "Watchable Wildlife" viewing sites and Audubon, Ohio has named it as an "Important Birding Area."
