An iconic fall feature, spiced lattes, in addition to warm cider, are beginning to make an appearance in Columbus’ local coffee shops. Here are just a few indepedent places to check out to get your fall fix and support local business at the same time:
A Columbus staple, Stauf’s never fails to have a solid variety of seasonal concoctions. For latte lovers, they offer their own version of Pumpkin Spice in addition to Spiced Honey (only at North Market location), Maple Spice and black coffee flavors as well (the caramel corn flavored black coffee is to die for). For those who don’t favor coffee or espresso, try out their Chaider, a yummy mix of chai and apple cider.
The Roosevelt Coffeehouse
The Roosevelt Coffeehouse on Long St. is once again offering their S’moretado, a fun fall take on your typical cortado (“baby latte”) that has a chocolate and graham cracker crumb rim with a skewer of toasted marshmallows on the side. Other items on their fall menu include a pumpkin latte that’s not too sweet so you can enjoy the taste of good espresso with a fall spice kick and also a Cascara Cider which combines apple cider and coffee cherries for a unique spin.
Hemingway’s Coffee Nook
A fun little gem downtown, Hemingway’s has no shortage of seasonal flavors, including classics such as Spiced Pumpkin and Cinnamon Maple. In addition, they’re currently offering Honey Graham (honey and white chocolate flavored), Vanilla Macadamia Cold Brew, and Reese PB Mocha (peanut butter and chocolate flavored, a Buckeye fan staple).
No one can resist the call of fall. What are you waiting for? Go get these seasonal flavors while they last.
