Five Food Festivals This Weekend in Ohio

Ohio is known for wildly different types of cuisines, from barbecue to pizza to ice cream to fresh fruits and vegetables. This summer, go to one of Ohio’s food festivals and taste everything the state has to offer! Every Wednesday in June, we will be posting upcoming food festivals for you to enjoy in every region in Ohio. For more festivals and events, visit our Calendar of Events on ohio.org.

June 2-3: 4th Annual Wayne County Music & Ribfest (Wooster)

This free festival in Wooster celebrates great barbecue and great music! Enjoy great food and beer, and participate in water tag and crazy coupe races! Ride down the big slide and listen to the live music playing on two separate stages, including Michael Stanley and the Resonators. All proceeds go to the Friends of Wayne County Fair’s Buckeye Agricultural Museum and Education Center.

June 2-4: Strawberry Festival (Newark)

Spend a weekend in Newark at Licking County’s largest annual festival. The Strawberry Festival includes rides, games, crafts and entertainment for the entire family to enjoy. Don’t miss the famous strawberry shortcakes made by the Newark Kiwanis Club and served with locally made Velvet Ice Cream. If you’re a real strawberry fan, try out your eating skills at the Strawberry Shortcake Eating Contest. A large portion of festival proceeds benefit youth activities at Camp O’Bannon and Kiwanis Park.

June 2-3: Valley Vineyards Wine & Beer Festival (Morrow)

Celebrate Valley Vineyards’ 47th Anniversary with this weekend-long festival! Tour the wine and beer cellars and taste the delicious food from local Warren County vendors. Then, ride or watch the hot air balloons as they light up the sky at dusk! Live music will play both nights, and royalty from the Ohio Renaissance Festival will offer toasts in celebration.

June 3-4: A “Taste of Lebanon” Festival (Cincinnati)

This Mediterranean food festival takes place at the St. Anthony of Padua Maronite Church. Taste the freshly prepared cuisine, including kibbe, tabbouleh, baklawa, grape leaves, falafel and much more. This festival is even vegetarian friendly. Shop the local vendors, and enjoy the live entertainment, like Lebanese Dabke Dancing. Then, play the games and buy tickets for the raffles. This festival has something for everyone in your family to enjoy!

June 3-4: Meigs County Gold Wings & Ribs Fest (Meigs County)

Get your taste of some of Ohio’s best barbecue and enjoy the view along the beautiful Ohio river! This festival includes a motorcycle tour and light parades, along with Honda and Harley dealers. If motorcycles aren’t for you, Meigs County is the site of an official John Hunt Morgan Civil War battleground. Enjoy boutique shopping, cookie stacking, art dealers and more at this one-of-a-kind weekend festival!
