Get Outdoors This June at These Ohio Events

This summer, get outside with your loved ones and check out all of the exciting events happening in June in Ohio! From music festivals to foodie fun to a tour across the state, this month has an event for every member of your family. June 9 – 10: Banana Split Festival (Wilmington)

Get your sweet tooth fix and check out the nation’s only Banana Split Festival this summer. Enjoy free concerts, a cruise-in of classic cars, crafts and collectibles, rides, delicious festival food and more at this 1950s and 1960s themed festival. Then, if you’re feeling competitive, give the Banana Split Eating Contest a try!

June 9 – 11: South Bass Island Kayak Rendezvous (Put-in-Bay)

Head to Lake Erie Shores & Islands for a weekend of kayaking, camping and exploring Lake Erie! This paddling event has water activities for every skill level, including kayaking down miles of island coastline or through open water. Drag your kayak ashore for a traditional pot-luck dinner and workshops!

June 16 – 18: Creekside Blues and Jazz Festival (Gahanna)

This family-friendly festival features over 90 hours of live blues and jazz music performing on five stages. Enjoy a weekend in Gahanna’s Creekside District and enjoy the amusement rides, regional artisans, and mouth-watering food from a variety of vendors. Take your kids into the Family Fun Zone and participate in family crafts! You can even take a relaxing paddleboat ride down the creek if your family needs a break from the excitement.

June 17 – 24: Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure (Statewide)

This 50-mile tour across scenic Ohio gives riders to the chance to coast through the state. Check out Ohio’s picturesque small towns and enjoy the unique food there. Cyclists from all across the country participate in this annual adventure, and routes start in Findlay with overnight stays in Tiffin, Upper Sandusky, Bellefontaine and Kenton.

June 24: Appalachian Music Festival (Bainbridge)

From bluegrass to gospel to folk and rock and roll, you’ll find your musical passion at this festival in Pike Lake State Park. Hang out by the beautiful lake, hike through the surrounding forests and enjoy the rustic charm of this great park at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.

June 29 – July 1: Ashland BalloonFest (Ashland)

This annual festival is a weekend packed with family-friendly activities. Listen to live music, beat your kids at laser tag and watch as hot air balloons take off and fly overhead. Taste the variety of food concessions, and stay after dark as the sky lights up from the glow of hot air balloons!
