Fall is a Special Time of Year in Ohio

Fall is a special time of year in Ohio and we are excited to have launched our Fall in Ohio campaign! The weather is getting cooler, the leaves will soon change and fall festivals are in full swing. Included in our promotions is the ever-popular 100 Things to Do in Ohio this Fall blog as well as a focus on seasonal events and Ohio Road Trips.

The biggest and best seasonal events are back this year!

  • Oktoberfest celebrations continue this month and include events in Dayton and Cincinnati.
  • Fall Fest at Kings Island and HalloWeekends at Cedar Point are back for the weekends from mid-September through the end of October.
  • The 23rd Annual Ohio Pawpaw Festival in Albany celebrates one of America's largest native tree fruits, the pawpaw, through food, art, and music all weekend long September 17-19.
  • The Circleville Pumpkin Show returns this year from October 20-23. Hundreds of thousands are expected to attend the festival, which includes parades, music, the famous pumpkin growing competition, and every type of pumpkin food and beverage imaginable.

The Ohio. Find It Here. Road Trips highlight dozens of must-see sights and provide inspiration for weekend trips to take this fall. Here are a few road trips that might especially pique your interest this season:

  • Charming Towns: The eight towns on this road trip offer visitors a chance to experience the charm of local shops and restaurants in some of Ohio's most quaint destinations.
  • The Scenic Route: Explore Ohio's natural wonders at 17 stops across the state and find opportunities to hike, bike, zipline, and paddle through beautiful parks and nature preserves. Click here to view the Scenic Route Road Trip video currently promoted on YouTube.
  • The Foodie Road Trip: This trip includes 15 stops in Ohio's three C's as well as Amish Country and Athens. New to the road trip is a stop at Breitenbach Wine Cellars, a winery in Dover with delicious dishes, spectacular views, and more than 40 varieties of wine. Click here to view the Foodie Road Trip video currently promoted on YouTube.

A visit to Ohio's college campuses, which are particularly beautiful in the fall, also makes for a great road trip. The Guide to the Best College Towns in Ohio blog offers an education on fun places to visit, eat and stay when visiting Ohio's campuses. Finally, keep an eye on the Fall Color Report for the best leaf-peeping opportunities.

We look forward to working with all of our partners to promote Fall in Ohio and encourage you to follow @OhioFindItHere on FacebookTwitter and Instagram, and don't forget to tag your destination or event using #FallinOhio and #OhioFindItHere.
