Ohio. Find It Here. Launches Summer Marketing Campaign

Regional campaign encourages people to find their future in Ohio.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland

COLUMBUS, Ohio (May 3, 2021) – This week, Ohio. Find It Here. is launching its summer campaign that tells the rest of the country what Ohioans already know: Ohio is an amazing place to live, learn, work and play. The $4 million marketing campaign kicks off during National Travel and Tourism Week and runs through June. It will encourage people to find their future in Ohio with images of families and friends experiencing joy, happiness and excitement at Ohio’s unique attractions, in beautiful parks, at incredible universities and in top companies.

"This campaign showcases many of the opportunities and adventures that can be discovered in Ohio," said Governor Mike DeWine. "As we emerge from the pandemic, I’d encourage Ohioans and visitors to safely explore all that Ohio has to offer."

This will be the first time since the pandemic that Ohio's tourism agency is marketing outside of the state. The timing couldn't be better to encourage people to look at Ohio as a vacation destination and envision themselves living here. According to the latest Longwoods International Travel Sentiment Study, 88% of American travelers now have travel plans in the next six months, with road trips and domestic travel a high priority. Research also confirms that many people still want to see common sense safety measures in place, which could impact travel decisions. A survey conducted in January of this year by Marcus Thomas LLC found that 18 out of every 100 households were considering a move out of their state in the next 12 months.

"A memorable visit to Ohio can lead people to think about our state as a place to raise a family, get an education and continue a career," said Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Development Services Agency. "I moved here for college and I chose to stay because of a job opportunity and the strong community I found in Findlay. It is time we tell people all we have to offer. If you're looking for a great place to live, learn, work and play, you can find it here in Ohio."

Reach for the Top Ad Campaign

The new campaign features the "Reach for the Top" TV commercial that begins airing on May 10 in Ohio and surrounding states. The commercial tells the story of a grandfather encouraging his granddaughter to "Reach for the Top" with scenes showing incredible life experiences in Ohio. The integrated marketing campaign also includes radio spots and targeted digital and social advertising. Based on research, the campaign connects visitors to Ohio experiences and destinations that fit their interests.
