COLUMBUS, Ohio (Nov. 16, 2021) — It's never too early to start holiday shopping, and Ohio. Find It Here. wants to inspire shoppers to get out and experience the wonder of the season by exploring new places in the quest for those perfect holiday gifts. Whether it's the vibe of checking out the stores in Ohio's quaint towns or being part of the holiday crowds in Ohio's vibrant cities, there’s something special about shopping in person and turning a shopping trip into a special occasion.

Ohio offers so many charming towns, such as Chillicothe, Bellefontaine, Mansfield, and Vermilion that could make a perfect day trip for couples, families, and friends who want to shop, play or stay. Many have side-by-side shops with specialty items you can't find anywhere else.

In the state's bigger cities, large retail centers such as Crocker Park in Westlake, the Greene in Beavercreek, or the award-winning Easton Town Center in Columbus offer everything you need for an extended spending spree weekend, including a wide array of restaurants, hotels, and entertainment venues.

"For many families, including mine, holiday shopping is an annual tradition that usually includes eating at a favorite restaurant, catching some holiday lights, and buying sweet treats," said Lydia Mihalik, director of the Ohio Department of Development. "We encourage Ohioans to get out and take advantage of all the wonderful stores, restaurants and other great destinations that we're lucky to have here in Ohio."

"Especially this year, knowing you are supporting local businesses should make wrapping and giving your gifts even more special."

Many great products are made in Ohio. So, chances are, whatever you’re looking for, you can find it here in Ohio, whether it's a custom piece of jewelry from Red Giraffe Designs, wine, spirits or beer crafted in Ohio, or the perfect handcrafted piece of furniture or décor. Nearly 800 companies in various industries — ranging from apparel to food and drink — are featured on the Made in Ohio website, curated by the Ohio Department of Development.

Give Ohio Experiences as Gifts

For those who prefer gifting "experiences" over "things," consider buying gift cards or certificates for family and friends. Or book a holiday getaway at one of Ohio's unique hotels or lodging options, or gift a cabin, lodge, or camping stay at an Ohio State Park

Ohio is also fortunate to have dozens of art, history, sports, and music museums, which have their own gift shops. Nov. 28 is Museum Store Sunday, a perfect opportunity to shop for those extraordinary ideas for someone special.
