Happy New Year! While 2014 was a great year for Ohio tourism, I am so excited for what 2015 holds. This is the year we launch branding for Ohio tourism – and a new website! We will continue to build relationships that benefit Ohio tourism and engage with you to help tell the story of Ohio.
You know we value your input – if you haven’t already, please fill out the survey for BuckeyeLine to help us better communicate with you about what matters most to you and your tourism organization/ destination. Click here to take the survey.
We are putting the finishing touches on the TourismOhio Strategic Plan, which will be presented to the TourismOhio Advisory Board on January 22. Be on the lookout for a special BuckeyeLine with details. Thank you once again for all of your guidance along the way as we created the Plan2Win (“Driving
Sustainable Growth for Tourism in Ohio”). As you know, it is extremely competitive for the attention of consumers. This plan outlines how we intend to grow tourism statewide.
Headway is being made on securing partners to help promote Ohio in a new, impactful way. We are finalizing details with a partner to create a new website – something you have told us is needed. The new digital vendor is Miles Marketing Destinations, a highly regarded company in the tourism space. We are excited about moving forward and have an aggressive timeframe in order to launch the website in time to support our summer marketing.
2015 is a year filled with promise for the future. It’s a time to reflect on what we have learned over the past year and focus on fresh ideas moving forward. I’ve learned that we have a passionate industry willing to tell me the truth and collaborate on making tourism stronger, and that we can get a lot done with a small team.
The opportunity is great. You’ve told us where you want us to go – now we have a plan on how we will get there which will increase our focus on what matters most while decreasing distractions.
“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan, but also believe.”
For the Good of Ohio,
