Spring has officially arrived – bask in the warm weather and discover happiness, joy and excitement with your loved ones all-month-long at some of Ohio’s best festivals and events.


COSI Science Fest, May 1-4

Join COSI for four days of learning and discovery at the COSI Science Festival in Columbus. You can’t miss this FREE event – take part in experiments, out-of-this-world demonstrations, and plenty of hands-on activities. Touch a brain, build a catapult, talk to NASA researchers, and more all-weekend-long. It’s the perfect event to kick-off your 50th Anniversary of the Moon Landing festivities!


Biggest Week in American Birding, May 3-12

Held during peak spring warbler migration is the “Biggest Week in American Birding,” a ten-day event in the Marsh Region of Northwest Ohio. Participate in workshops, guided walks, listen to keynote speakers, and of course, sight warblers and other migrating birds.


Ohio Tourism Day, May 8

Ohio Tourism Day is a FREE event celebrating Ohio’s $44 billion tourism industry and providing the opportunity for consumers to plan their Ohio vacations while visiting with tourism destinations and attractions from across the state. The day will include entertainment, demonstrations, interactive experiences and more than 100 booths represented by Ohio’s tourism industry leaders.


Mother’s Day at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens, May 12

Treat Mom to a relaxing Mother’s Day at Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens in Akron. Take a tour of the Manor House and bask in beautiful spring weather as you walk through colorful, historic gardens. Grab a bite or sweet treat in Molly’s Cafe and find the perfect collectible to commemorate the day. All mothers receive complementary admission.


Food Truck Rally & Competition, May 18

There’s something to delight all kinds of taste buds at Miami County Fairground’s Food Truck Rally & Competition. Main courses, delicious treats, specialty drinks – you’ll find it all, all-day long. Be sure to come hungry!


Feast of the Flowering Moon, May 24-26

Held on Memorial Day weekend in downtown Chillicothe, Feast of the Flowering Moon features everything from Native American music and dancing to crafting and exhibits, demonstrations, carnival rides, pageants, and the Ross County Idol contest. Tune into music on the main stage or learn an authentic Native American dance all at this family-friendly event.


The Memorial Tournament, May 27-June 2

Held annually at the Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, the Memorial Tournament, hosted by Jack Nicklaus, invites the world’s best golfers to compete on the main stage with proceeds benefiting a variety of Greater Columbus Charities. When you’re not watching tournament play, enjoy a drink and games at The Patio at Patron Village, or snap a picture with the Memorial Tournament trophy at Champions Pavilion.

Frontier Days, May 30-June 2

Celebrate one of Ohio’s largest events and parades at Frontier Days! Catch floats and bands at the parade or grab a bite and stop by vendors and booths at the festival. It’s perfect for your next family-fun outing.
