Showcasing 39 larger-than-life illuminated displays crafted by Chinese artisans, the vibrant Ohio Chinese Lantern Festival has returned to Columbus this holiday season. As an alternative to traditional holiday lights, the colorful and whimsical exhibits will brighten up your holidays!
Located at the Natural Resources Park at the Ohio Expo Center, visitors will be greeted by a giant red illuminated entrance that sets the colorful tone of your visit. Walking underneath hanging light displays, including traditional Chinese lanterns while listening to soothing traditional Chinese music is the perfect way to spend a winter evening outdoors with loved ones. As you continue through the park, giant colorful creatures, including a 200-foot long Chinese dragon, a group of dinosaurs, elephants, birds and fish to name a few, transports you into a fantasy world.
Inside the expo center, visitors can warm up with a hot drink and feast on traditional Chinese foods while marveling at popular Chinese handicrafts. Live performances of traditional Chinese acts are held every evening at 6:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. with an additional performance at 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays only.
The Ohio Chinese Lantern Festival is a celebration of Chinese culture and dazzling hand-crafted light sculptures. Make plans this holiday season to enjoy the vibrant lantern festival with loved ones…it will capture the imagination of all ages!
