Brownella Cottage, home of William Montgomery Brown and his wife Ella, is a house museum (1887) in the care of the Galion Historical Society. A rare gem, Brownella Cottage is filled entirely with furniture original to the Brown family. A time capsule of the life of Bishop Brown & Ella Brown and his varied past – first as a popular Episcopal priest and later as a Bishop on trial for heresy. The Brownella Cottage Carriage House has been transformed into the Galion History Museum & gift shop. The Historic Grace Church (Bishop Brown’s first assignment) – located across the street from Brownella Cottage is also in the care of the Galion Historical Society and is available for tours, rentals, and weddings. Tours of Brownella Cottage are available by appointment and are $5 per person. The Galion Historical Society office is open Monday- Wednesday- Friday, 10:00 -12:00 and 1:00 -4:00 p.m.
