Welcome to Miners Memorial at Jesse Owens State Park
Much of AEP ReCreation Land is now Ohio's newest State Park, Jesse Owens State Park. The Miners Memorial Park is the location of the Muskie Bucket the bucket of the worlds largest Walking Dragline. It is a memorial to the men and women who worked as strip miners supplying Electric Power for the eastern portion of the United States with a dedication to reclaiming land stripped of its coal. This reclaimed land is now thousands of acres of ponds, lakes hiking trails, hunting and camping. A portion of the AEP ReCreation Land is now known as "the Wilds" North America's Largest Wildlife Refuge located just north of Morgan County.
