Last year was the centennial of the 19th amendment and to celebrate, Ohio. Find It Here., created a Women In History Road Trip to celebrate the achievements and contributions of the women that have once called Ohio home. Here are a few destinations that honor the women that have paved the way for modern times.

Sauder Villlage's 1920's Main Street Experience

Transport yourself to 1920, the year women achieved the right to vote. Stop by the theater, candy shop, fire station and soda fountain for an experience that'll show you how people worked and spend their hard-earned leisure time a century ago. This new permanent exhibit is an addition to Sauder Village.

Upton House and Women's Suffrage Museum 

Learn all about this monumental year at the Women's Suffrage Museum at the Upton House. Opened in the summer of 2009, the room contains permanent and revolving exhibits showcasing the life and achievements of Harriet Taylor Upton and other local women in the suffrage movement. The Upton House itself is an important fixture in the women's suffrage movement as the house was the temporary center of the National American Woman Suffrage Association in 1903. Walk in the steps of the various celebrities that have visited the House during this period while learning about the remarkable actions of the females who earned women the right to vote.

International Women's Air and Space Museum 

Honor the achievements of the women who broke the glass ceiling and soared to new heights - literally - at the International Women’s Air & Space Museum. The museum's mission is to collect and preserve the history and culture of women in all areas of aviation and aerospace while educating visitors on their scientific contributions.

Check out their upcoming virtual events like the one on Cleveland women in aviation and aerospace. And keep your eyes on their social media for fun facts, exhibit talks and announcements. 

First Ladies' National Historic Site 

While Canton is known to many as the home of the National Football Hall of Fame, it's also home to the First Ladies' National Historic Site. This education and research center details the achievements of our nation's First Ladies, many of which were suffragettes in their own rite.
