Orange Johnson House in Worthington
Transport yourself to the 19th century when visiting the Orange Johnson House. One of the oldest residences still standing in its original location in Worthington. The house shows what life in Central Ohio was like in the early 1800's, spanning both the Pioneer and Federal periods. When you visit, the lower level exhibition rooms feature rotating exhibits with items from the Worthington Historical Society's collection.
Clemons Cemetery in Marblehead
Get a jump start on spooky season with a tour of Clemons Cemetery. The one-hour tour is more educational than scary, focusing on the interred and what's involved in cemetery restoration and preservation. It's the perfect tour for anyone on the side of Grave Cleaning and Tombstone TikTok.
Fun Fact: A taphophile is someone interested in cemeteries, funerals, and gravestones.
Hayesville Opera House in Ashland County
The Hayesville Opera House has a unique and esteemed history. Erected in 1886, it's one of the oldest operating theaters in Ohio. And one of the best examples of what a 19th century theatre was like.
These sites are only a sample of the many historical buildings that you can tour through Ohio Open Doors.
