Celebrating its 22nd year of showcasing great Ohio wines, the Vintage Ohio Wine Festival is the perfect event for an Ohio wine lover! The rustic setting of the Lake Metroparks Farmpark, in Kirtland (Lake County), makes for the perfect location for a weekend of wine tasting. Last year, I attended the Vintage Ohio Wine Festival and enjoyed tasting some great Ohio wines in the company of nearly 20,000 other Ohio wine lovers!
The Vintage Ohio Wine Festival showcases sixteen Ohio wineries from around the state. These wineries will pour a combination of nearly 100 wines! From dry, sweet, French-hybrids, Ohio-grown, fruity, to sparkling; festival-goers can sample nearly every style of Ohio wine! With so many types of Ohio wines, finding the best Ohio wine to satisfy your palate is easy! If you find the perfect Ohio wine, stop by the Take Home the Experience wine store to purchase a bottle!
Along with fantastic Ohio wines, the Craft Beer Pavilion showcases Ohio craft beers from three Ohio breweries. This will be the second year for the Craft Beer Pavilion at Vintage Ohio, and it is a welcomed addition for the non-wine drinkers, and the craft beer enthusiasts!
Although sampling great Ohio wines is the main attraction, the Vintage Ohio Wine Festival also provides numerous activities to keep attendees entertained. From various exhibitors, boutique shops, cooking demonstrations, wine education classes, the farm animals of the metropark welcomes visitors of all ages to experience farm life, children’s entertainment, three stages throughout the park for live entertainment and a fireworks display Friday night, you will find plenty of things to keep you entertained at the festival! With over twenty food vendors, festival attendees will have plenty of food choices to pair with their Ohio wine or craft beer. The Vintage Ohio Wine Festival truly is the perfect summer event to showcase the Ohio wine industry!
