Between October and December, Ohio sees an average of 20 million trips by those visiting friends and relatives in our state. To help Ohioans and visitors alike plan opportunities to spend time together, we created a Holidays In Ohio web page last year. During its run from around November 1 – December 31, the site received 44,111 pageviews with an average time on page of 3:26 – good incentive to repeat the effort in 2017.
We officially launched the 2017 Holidays in Ohio web page (https://www.ohio.org/holidays) with a news release on November 9. Building on learnings from 2016, we have organized content by interest and added some new features including: Top 5 Holiday Activities by Region (numbered lists do well on social media) and a Downloadable Holiday Lights Map. If you have amazing holiday events in your area, please make sure they are listed on Ohio.org where consumers can find them. Here’s a link to help you create new listings: https://www.ohio.org/industry/database.
Please share #HolidaysInOhio to help your followers, friends and family get some great information and links to distinctive Ohio Holiday Events, Cultural Pursuits, Culinary Experiences, Holiday Shopping, Outdoor Adventures, Holiday Lights and more! We would appreciate any connections and message extension on social media as well, particularly now during the nine weeks of giveaways on the @OhioFindItHere Facebook page. Happy #HolidaysInOhio!
