TourismOhio’s Tamara Brown and Ohio tourism industry partners met with national media outlets last month in New York to share the Ohio. Find It Here. memorable experiences available in our state. Meetings and conversations included writers and/or editors for: Parents magazine, Food Network Magazine, Budget Travel, Esquire, Siempre Mujer/Hola! USA, Sherman’s Travel, Latina, Oyster.com, Family Circle, Traveling Dad (blog), Soul Society101 blog/Essence, Conde Nast Traveler and VinePair.com.
Overall, there was good interest in Ohio, particularly regarding the unique story pitches we offered such as Urban Artifact Brewery catching and using wild yeast (and other unique craft brew angles), overnighting in a treehouse in the Mohican area, and cooking with pawpaws. More than once, we heard writers express interest in middle-America – places outside of the largest cities (but near them) and the two coasts – that would be of interest and within reach of everyday people. To that we said, Ohio. Find It Here! We also saw a trend toward more feature-type story telling including more background about the people who create incredible experiences. Our first story has run in VinePair.com, a blog for those particularly interested in wine and beer.
