The holidays may look a little different this year, but that doesn't mean there's any less magic and adventure. Celebrate the most wonderful time of the year in the safety (and warmth) of your own home with these virtual holiday happenings across the state.

Winterfair From Ohio Designer Craftsmen in Columbus - Going on Now 

Finish any last minute holiday shopping at the virtual Columbus Winterfair. Support local artists and purchase beautiful and unique jewelry, ceramics, paintings and more. Visit their Homepage for a vendor directory that'll link you right to the artist's page. 

Santa's Gone Virtual! at Easton Town Center in Columbus - Now through Dec. 15

Meet with Santa without the long lines that are synonymous with shopping malls. Personalized videos from Santa are available for $10, with proceeds benefiting the Easton Community Foundation. These videos will be sent via email and downloadable in an MP4 format. When ordering a video, you can fill out information on the recipient so Santa can give them a personalized and memorable experience.

Note: Videos will be emailed out and available to order until Dec. 15 at 12PM. You can expect videos within 5-10 business days of ordering. 

Toledo Maker's Mart - Now through Dec. 24

Handmade Toledo's Maker's Mart is a one-stop destination for all your gift giving needs. From t-shirts to coffee mugs to jalapeño jam, there's something for everyone. The market is available 24/7 from Nov. 28 until Christmas Eve.

A Nutcracker Holiday - Now through Dec. 27

Columbus' BalletMet is hosting a new-abbreviated version of the dance, as well as providing a behind-the-scenes peek at the Nutcracker costumes, a self-guided scavenger hunt and more.

Holiday Bonus: Check out CAPA's "The Hip Hop Nutcracker" virtual performance on Dec. 19 at 7PM. 

Virtual Bedtime Stories with Santa - Dec. 8 from 6:30-7PM

Take the night off from reading your children a bedtime story and let Santa take over! Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be streaming live on the Fairfield City's Parks' Facebook page as they read stories and answer some of the letters that have been dropped off at the Fairfield Community Arts Center's North Pole Mailbox.

Holiday Bonus: From Dec. 1-17, kids can drop off their Santa Letters with a stamped + self-addressed envelope at the North Pole Mailbox. It'll be setup at the Fairfield Community Arts Center (411 Wessel Dr., Fairfield, OH 45014).

Virtual Holiday Workshop and Classes - Dec. 9 and 16 from 7-8PM

The Castle in Marietta is serving up holiday cheer online this year. Check out their Christmas-themed virtual classes and learn how to make historical ornaments and Victorian holiday punch

The First Ladies Library in Canton is hosting three separate virtual holiday events. On Dec. 10, purchase a gingerbread decorating kit and learn about the history of gingerbread in the White House in the Gingerbread with the First Ladies event. Travel back to 1974 as you learn how to create patchwork ornaments with Betty Ford's directions, taking place on Dec. 14. Lastly, tune in on Dec. 22 to learn how the White House is uniquely decorated for the holidays each year with a special interactive Zoom session for children and their families.

Festivus 2020 at 400 Square in Columbus - Dec. 11 from 5-8PM and Dec. 12-13 from 12-5PM

Festivus, the secular holiday made popular by Seinfeld, is back once again! Celebrate the online three day local holiday shopping extravaganza from Dec. 11 to 13 with a virtual shopping event and live performances on Instagram Live.

Virtual Jingle Bell Run in Cincinnati - Dec. 11-13 

Join the Arthritis Foundation's 2020 Jingle Bell Run from anywhere! Whether you want to challenge yourself to an outdoor 5k run or complete the race from your treadmill. Every runner will receive a Jingle Bell Run short sleeve t-shirt, a unique medal and a sticker!

Winterfest Wonderland Series Live Stream - Dec. 12 and Dec. 19

Head over to Downtown Cleveland Alliance's (DCA) Facebook page as they live stream a lineup of crafting and decorating tutorials, dance parties, story times and much more.

Virtual Visits with Santa over Zoom - Dec. 12 and Dec. 19 at 11:00AM  

Tell Santa everything you want for Christmas from the comfort of your own home! Children and their families are invited to join a special Zoom visit with Santa from the North Pole. Chat with his elves and listen to their stories, pose for selfies and lead a Christmas sing-along.

Zora's House WoCO Virtual Holiday Market - Dec. 12 from 12-3PM

Zora’s House is the only co-working and community space in central Ohio catering specifically to women of color. Their annual WoCO Holiday Market is going virtual this year as they collaborate with Columbus Flea. Follow their Instagram to stay updated on this event.

Live from Music Hall: Holiday Pops - Dec. 12 at 8PM 

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra is hosting a virtual concert series. John Morris Russell and the Pops are rounding out the Live from Music Hall digital concert series, free and open to everyone. Sit back, relax and watch high-class artists and performances of your favorite holiday songs. All while sipping on a steaming cup of hot cocoa from the comfort of your couch.

Toledo Ballet's The Nutcracker - Dec 12 at 7PM and Dec. 13 at 1PM

Experience the magic of the famed ballet, with its far-off places, toy soldiers and Sugar Plum Fairy, without leaving your home. The Toledo Ballet is livestreaming their performance of "The Nutcracker" on Dec. 12 and Dec. 13 at 7PM and 1PM, respectively.

Menorah Lighting and Maccabee Landing in Westerville - Dec. 13 at 2PM

Chabad Columbus is introducing new and inventive ways to celebrate Chanukah this year. For the first time, they'll be hosting a Maccabee Landing. On Dec. 13, a Chanukah hero will descend from a helicopter to light the Menorah. Watch the event unfold from the comfort and safety of your own car.

Note: You'll need to reserve your parking spot.

Virtual Christmas Escape Room - Dec. 14-20 at 9AM-6PM 

Test your problem-solving and time management skills with the Virtual Christmas Escape Room, hosted by the Canal Fulton Public Library. Recommended for grades K-5, help your children escape from Santa's workshop in time for Christmas. Find the link on the library’s Facebook page beginning Dec. 14.

Mazza Museum's Tales For Tots in Findlay - Dec. 16 at 8AM 

Toddlers, preschoolers and their families will love this virtual Storytime featuring "Santa's Story" by Will Hillenbrand. A reading of the story, activities, sign language and songs will all be apart of the program! The video will be posted on the Mazza Museum's website at 8AM on Dec.16, as well as their Facebook page.

A Columbus Christmas Carol - Dec. 16-27

CATCO's A Columbus Christmas Carol is offering a virtual, contemporary retelling of Charles Dickens' classic "Christmas Carol", set in Ohio's capital city with a new twist on all your favorite characters. Follow along as Ebony Scrooge, a Columbus bank owner, embarks upon a journey of family, redemption and love.

The Nutcracker at Home - Dec. 17-23 

Experience the cherished holiday experience of the Nutcracker Ballet from home! The Cincinnati Ballet will be streaming an abridged, hour long version of the performance, with music from the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. This year, along they'll also have bonus content like a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into putting a production this iconic into motion.
