There's no better match than coffee in winter. Unless it's hot chocolate in winter. As the holiday lights start going up this season, why not warm up with a cup of some seasonally-inspired brews from these local Ohio coffeeshops.
Pistacia Vera in Columbus
This German Village spot is a Columbus staple. And while it's known for a variety of delicious flavored macarons, it's the hot chocolate that's a real delight. The "Valrhona Cocoa" is made with - unsurprisingly - Valrhona chocolate and Snowville Creamery steamed milk. You can go the extra java-step and order it as a Mocha espresso drink.
For a Holiday-inspired option, try one of their new seasonal drinks like the Spiced Caramel Latte, Old-Fashioned Flat White, Eggnog Latte or Cranberry Orange Black Iced Tea. You can order online for take-away, curbside or delivery.
Holiday Bonus: while in German Village, check out Fox in the Snow and pickup one of their Peppermint Marshmallows. A perfect addition to any mocha, hot chocolate or latte.
Coffeeology in Delaware
Tis the season for eggnog. And there's nothing like taking the traditional drink and adding some java to the mix. Coffeeology's Eggnog Latte brings you the best of espresso and pairs with Ohio's very own Hartzler Dairy Eggnog. Looking for something sweeter? Then try the Peppermint Bark White Mocha.
You can call at 740-417-9212 and place your drink order for curbside pickup (just give them a ring when you're outside and they'll bring the coffee right to your car!).
Rustbelt Coffee in Toledo
Order a Peppermint Mocha for that classic holiday feel, try a Snowball Latte (white mocha with toasted marshmallow whipped cream and snowflake sprinkles), or the Spiced Citrus Mocha (made with cinnamon syrup and orange zest). And making it's return, it's the Wassail - made with MacQueen's cider, orange, clove cinnamon and cranberries.
Rustbelt offers curbside ordering. Call 419-819-5988 to place, pay and pickup your drink.
Maddie & Bella Coffee Roasters in Perrysburg
With locations in Perrysburg and Toledo, Maddie & Bella is serving up holiday cheer in Northwest Ohio. Their holiday menu includes five festive drinks - try one or try them all. From the Peppermint Mocha, to the RoseMerry & Bright Latte (made with rosemary and local honey), Turtle Dove Mocha (with chocolate milk, salted caramel and butter rum) or the Butter Rum (pum-pum-pum) Latte - made with butter rum, local honey, ginger and cinnamon.
For those wanting something new and different, try the BerryMint Matcha which is made with organic matcha, blackberry, peppermint and oat milk. And you can order online for curbside pickup.

Roseland Coffee Bar in Vincent
Here's a coffeeshop that's ready to caffeinate you this Holiday season. You can order your drinks hot, or if you're one of those "anytime is a good time for iced coffee" people, they have that option too.
Try any one of their Holiday drinks from a Salted Caramel Eggnog Latte, Chai-nog (chai latte made with eggnog), Christmas Chai (white chocolate chai latte) to a Candy Cane Mocha. Or just go with a classic Peppermint Mocha -- and add whip topping and candy cane sprinkles!
Stay bundled up and listening to those Holiday tunes by ordering at their drive-thru window.
Jeremiah's Coffee House in Marietta
Marietta might be named after a famous Queen, but you'll be the one feeling like royalty after treating yourself to the holiday treats at Jeremiah's Coffee House. Try the Black Forrest Cherry Latte, Praline Toasted Pecan Latte or their Jeremiah Mocha (made chocolate, peppermint and the ever-needed espresso).
You can order online (and get delivery) through their website.

Tastefully Roasted Coffee in Oakwood
Founded by local baristas, this coffee shop outside of Dayton is dedicated to giving you the best cup o' joe! Their signature latte, The Toasty Roast, is perfect for the holidays. Made with caramel, toasted marshmallow and chocolate, it's a real cozy treat. For those who prefer a more traditional holiday beverage, their Peppermint Mocha is back on the menu.
You can try their drive-thru for quick and safe pickups.
Hyde Perk Coffee in Cincinnati
You'll be dancing to the tune of the Sugar Plum Fairy when you take a sip of Hyde Perk's Cinnamon Plum Tea. For those who like something a bit frostier, try their new seasonal drink - the Frosted Mint Mocha.
You can order carryout or get your drinks at their drive-thru.

Brewella's Coffee, Crepes & Collectibles in Cleveland
Stave off the Lake Effect with a drink from Brewella's. This coffeeshop (which is always decked out) has a holiday menu that'll keep you comfy and warm all winter long. So grab a cup of their Merry Maple Latte (made with cinnamon maple syrup), Snow Lait (a decaf coffee with cinnamon maple syrup), Candy Cane Mocha or Candy Cane Hot Chocolate (both made with peppermint syrup).
And don't forget to bundle up when heading to Brewella's, as they're only doing carryout orders.
Nervous Dog Coffee Bar in Akron
With four locations throughout Northeast Ohio, you'll be able to caffeinate no matter where you are when you stop by Nervous Dog Coffee Bar. If you adore those nostalgic flavors, try their Winter Spice Latte (made with a spice mix of cinnamon, allspice, ginger and clove that's sweetened with vanilla).
You can also go for the standard holiday drinks with the Candy Cane Mocha (made with white chocolate, cherry and peppermint) or the Peppermint "Bark" (made with two shots of espresso, six ounces of textured milk, chocolate, peppermint, cinnamon and cayenne pepper).
For those who like more allusions in the coffee, check out the Butterbeer Latte (blend of butterscotch, caramel and English toffee) or the Tom & Jerry. This hot chocolate is made with rich half & half, white chocolate, nutmeg, clove, allspice and rum extract - and it tasted just like eggnog.
